Love at Sunset @Nathan Walker Photography

Dinosaurs, Art Deco and all the colours of the rainbow combined to make Bekki and Jasper’s wedding a wonderful explosion of love and joy – fun just bursts out of this blog and we’re desperate to join in! Having met online, Bekki and Jasper felt like they’d known each other for years by the end of their first date. Their second date was the very next day, and they’ve been together ever since! Cut to 2021 when they went to learn how to make pots for the weekend and Jasper insisted on going for a walk, even though the sun was blazing hot. They stopped for a breather, both sweaty and tired, and Jasper proposed with an engagement ring that he’d made himself out of wood as a placeholder for the real thing! Bekki thought this was incredibly sweet, and she’s not the only one! Then it was all about planning one amazing wedding, and searching for Bekki’s dream dress…

I knew I wanted a tea length dress immediately - I love the way they look and they seemed the most "me" out of all the dresses I looked at online. Jasper and I also wanted to have a Ceilidh, so I really wanted a dress that was practical and easy to move around in. It didn't take long for me to find and fall in love with House of Mooshki, and that's what led me to Alice Rose Bridal. I had visions of touring the Bridal shops of the East Midlands to find the right dress for me, but honestly it took one trip to Alice Rose Bridal and I was set. Donna was so amazing, we had a chat about what I wanted, and we worked through all the House of Mooshki dresses before I tried on Sarah, and that was it! The dress was an Apricot colour, with an ivory lace which honestly wasn't what I thought I wanted but the moment I put it on, it just worked and I loved it. The only design alteration I had was to change the neckline to a sweetheart style - which Gali did an amazing job of during her alterations (I can't praise Gali enough!). The dress was incredibly comfortable, it twirled beautifully and it was a lot of fun to wear! Donna and the team at Alice Rose were really supportive, attentive and the whole experience was so easy-going - I had been told buying a dress would be stressful, but I can truly say it wasn't for me thanks to the Alice Rose team!”

A tea-length dress is the perfect way to show off your footwear - and what awesome footwear! @Nathan Walker Photography

The ceremony room at our venue was up some steep, narrow stairs, and I was already worried about face planting up and down them - I don't think I could have managed to remain dignified in a longer dress, so my dress was perfect!  I loved that the dress showed off my shoes (which I had coveted for so long before the wedding). The dress really came into its own during the Ceilidh - I just had to change my shoes and I was off! Also no one had to help me use the loo in it, which I massively appreciated!”

“Too much confetti is the right amount of confetti!” @Nathan Walker Photography

“Pick whatever dress makes you feel beautiful, and makes you smile when you look at it. I’ve taken mine out of the bag about 100x to admire it since the wedding! Don't sweat the small stuff - no one will remember if you had favours or the flowers weren't perfect, but they will remember you being happy! And too much confetti is the right amount of confetti!”
